Maximo Recio is a media artist specialising in immersive installations and AV performances. By integrating light, sound and a sculptural approach to video, Maximo creates augmented spaces—physical environments embedded with digital content.
Grounded in generative processes, Maximo’s work explores the fluid boundaries between organic and synthetic systems, using these intersections to create rich, multisensory environments.
Maximo has created work globally for cultural institutions, performing artists, and leading brands such as Prada, Valentino or Zegna. His installations have been exhibited in renowned museums and galleries, including Tate Modern in London, the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, and the Power Station of Art in Shanghai.
In 2016, he joined the art collective United Visual Artists (UVA), with whom he has collaborated on numerous installation artworks and large-scale projects, including their solo show Synchronicity at 180 Studios in London in 2024.
Maximo graduated with an MA in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art in 2016.
