Maximo Recio is a media artist working on immersive installations and digital scenography.
Employing light, sound and a sculptural approach to video, Maximo creates augmented spaces — physical environments embedded with digital content. His process incorporates generative techniques, inspired by mathematical models of reality and our complex relationship with technology.
Since 2016, he is a member of London-based art collective United Visual Artists, working on installation artworks as well as experiential and stage design projects. Parallel to his collaborative work with UVA, Maximo operates as a solo practitioner for artistic commissions and commercial projects.
His work has been seen in cultural institutions such as Tate Modern in London and the Power Station of Art in Shanghai, and has created work globally for performing artists and brands including Prada, Valentino, COS, Calvin Klein and Mini.
Maximo graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2016.
